Interesting competition being run by Poole property developers
Vivid Construction.
It will cost you £25 to enter, sounds expensive but your chances of winning are 1 in 52,000 which is a lot better than the 15 million to 1 chance you have of scooping a similar size prize from the National Lottery. Its not cash, its this house…. !
- Win this house on Sandbanks!

Hi there! Who wouldn’t love to win a house in Sandbanks… This sounds like a great opportunity. I’ll have to count my pennies and see if I can buy a ticket myself perhaps!
I didn’t realise there were so many house competitions running online until I came across this blog post on another house competition site. It seems a few of them have been cancelled or changed how players can enter?
http://win-house.co.uk/blog/competition-updates/15-further-property-competitions-cancelled-following-the-devon-house-competition-setback.html
On reading this, I can’t help thinking some of the house competitions have a better chance of finishing on time than others, so it’s worth picking the right one. Food for thought…
Martin
P.S.: nice blog!
heres another one, interesting read: http://www.propertycompetition.com/
Interesting that Vivid Constuctions last message on website was in October 2008. No regular updates since…no news of how many tickets sold…do your sums and you will work out that even if they dont sell all 52,000 tickets they still make £5 on each ticket sold. Licence to print money….so…how many tickets have been sold? Whats the position today. So many unanwsered questions!!
Over in the US, most competitions tend to be organized as pure charity raffles. State laws usually dictate that you can’t organize this type of thing for profit.
House raffles can also be a great way charity fundraiser, as indicate in this article I came across:
http://winahouseraffles.com/blog/organizing-house-raffles/30-house-raffle-brings-charity-back-into-profit.html
Although it seems that there is a skill element here?
Most raffles I’ve come across also run ‘early bird’ draws. Although they often don’t show how many tickets are sold, the least you would expect is regular blog updates.
I clicked on the link for the sandbanks one and it seems it was updated when it closed but nothing to indicate when results will be announced. Does anyone know?
Hi Liz,
I’ve revisited the site a couple of times in the last week, curious to know result BUT… my computer tells me theres a problem with it and that I might catch some “malicious malware”??!?
Also… had no news/updates at all during the competition, even though they say you will be kept informed. You have to assume although the competition is closed/completed its not a successful end. Such a wasted opportunity – it would be so easy to keep in touch with entrants, and increase tickets sales off the back of this.
Hi Chris
Looks like they didn’t sell enough tickets according to the latest statement on their site…. You’re right though I also got this malware message hardly reassuring don’t know how long it’s been showing! Clearly the organisers aren’t too bothered about keeping in touch with people and making sure the site is always up to date… Will be interesting to see how much the cash prize is in september… best
Some win a home competitions have been closed because they are raffles. looked at the above link and followed on and it seems that there has to be a skills based factor for it to be valid in the UK.
There’s a new win a house competition in the UK at http://www.wina3millionpoundhome.com which is for a £3million mansion for £25 per ticket. Or just dign up for referral and get £25k if your friends win! Am in!
I see too http://www.contestswinmoney.info
