We’ve been ‘off the radar’ for a while but are now back… refreshed and still as enthusiastic as ever, despite all the doom and gloom attached to all things property! We have been very productive behind the scenes and lots of new and exciting things will be happening with Southern Property Finder in the coming months to the benefit of our agents.
So… on the subject of “Green Shoots” – heres five recent snippets:
This graph from wheresmyproperty.com bottoms out and starts to upturn at the end (which we like!)…
“Don’t be fooled by talk of green shoots – prices have further to fall if the market is to reconnect with first time buyers” Richard Donnell, Head of Research, Hometrack - read full article (pdf)
Nationwide - House prices show slight increase in March lots of comments on this story on the Guardian – interesting read
our friends at Rightmove quoted March improvements… “UK property prices have improved slightly in March. But average asking prices are still 9% lower than they were this time last year. Miles Shipside from Rightmove discusses the “spring optimism” seen in the housing market in this video…. UK Property Price Improvement
… a less positive slant with direct comparisons to stats of the same period in previous years from the The Mail saying “the volume of sales is less than half the level that would constitute ‘normal’ market conditions, with a total of 600,000 open-market sales in 2009 compared with the one million to 1.3million sales completed in a normal year”
Would be good to hear your thoughts, particularly from our Agents
